The Half Marathon starts at 8am on October 24 at Sweetwater Town Center, adjacent to the town center lawn here.

Parking will be available at Sweetwater Town Center parking decks (north and south deck), as well as the large Harris Teeter parking lot across Richardson Road.

Sorry - pets are not allowed at this event. However, jogging strollers are welcome.

Packet pickup will be held on Friday, October 23 at Sweetwater Town Center from 3-7pm.

We strongly recommend picking up your packet on Friday at packet pickup to reduce lines and stress on race day. A friend or family member can pick up your packet for you.
If you have no other option, packet pickup will be available ($10 charge per person) at the start line on the morning of the event from 6-7:30am. You can indicate your preference for day-of packet pickup when you register.

All participants receive a premium Apex Half Marathon race shirt, race medal (must complete race to earn medal), and special edition Apex Half Marathon SWAG item to signify your amazing accomplishment in this inaugural event!

The Apex Half Marathon has a 3.5 hour course limit. This is a 16 minute/mile average pace. All finishers must cross the finish line within 3.5 hours of their start or they will be removed from the course.

September 30: last day to defer registration to next year or transfer to another runner.
October 12: deadline to be guaranteed a shirt. After this date, remaining shirts will be given on a first come first served basis, based on time of registration.
October 22: last day to register online.
October 23: packet pickup and expo from 3-7pm.

Yes. Pace groups will be announced as the event approaches.

Awards will be given to first place overall male and female, as well as first, second, and third place male/female finishers in each of the following categories:
12 and under
13-17
18-24
25-34
35-44
45-54
55-64
65-74
75+

Yes. At checkout, you can purchase race insurance to be sure you are covered if you cannot make the event. This is through REG SHIELD, which a separate insurance company that covers you in case of injury or an emergency.
You can transfer your entry to another runner. Alternatively, you can defer your entry to the following year for a $10 fee. The deadline for transfers and deferrals is September 30.

Yes. Lauren Updyke has designed an extensive 14-week training plan for novice to experienced runners. Please indicate your interest in participating on the registration page. Most workouts will be done independently with optional in-person sessions once a week. Starts July 2.
